The COVID-19 Crisis has put our business and community into uncharted territory.  We have the essential responsibility of maintaining an environment that is safe for both our employees, customers and community.

We take great pride in consistently maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and have always considered food safety and hygiene our top priority.

In response the COVID-19 we have added additional measures by relying on the recommendations of the World Health Organization.

All of the La Baguette & L ’Echalote employees are receiving ongoing updates and enhanced operating protocols.

We continue to use effective high grade cleaning and sanitation supplies, including gloves, masks, use double strength sodium hypo-chloride cleaning solution to ensure proper sanitization as well as consistently following standard food safety guidelines.

In addition we are:

  • Promoting regular and thorough hand-washing and increasing sanitization of our bakery, packing and office areas. Including encouraging employees to sanitize their personal cell phones.
  • Promote good respiratory hygiene in the workplace as well as ensuring effective supervision of staff to reinforce hygiene practices.
  • Advise employees of British Columbia Health Minister’s recommendation against all non-essential travel outside of Canada, including the United States. All company related travel has been suspended at this time.
  • Keeping vigilant and ensure that staff are not ill and are fit to work. Any employee who is ill or feeling unwell or experiences symptoms is requested to stay home. As well as the 1 degree of separation rule, which means to notify us if they have been in contact with someone suspected of carrying the Covid-19 virus before entering the workplace.
  • Ensure staff to report any physical signs/symptoms before commencing work or entering the workplace.

At this point, we will continue business as usual as we continue to diligently follow all food safety protocols to hold the highest standards possible.
